Why am I doing this?
I honestly don’t know what to say here. Does the world need another bible blog? Probably not. But I’m starting this because I want a place to put my thoughts and, theoretically, encourage others. Full transparency, though: I struggle with doing the right things for the wrong reasons (like impressing others or puffing up my ego). So humbly (and realistically) I’m not going to expect much of an audience here. Instead, I’m going to write for myself and let that be enough.
Who am I?
Hi, my name is Alan Beam. I have a new life in Christ and I’m recovering from lust, pride, fear of conflict, and people pleasing. I married my amazing wife, Ginni, in 2009, and we have three biological children: Alma (born in 2011), Jesse (2013), and Martín (due Nov 10, 2020). We’ve fostered two incredible kiddos and are grateful to be friends with their families. I’m a web developer, I play Ultimate and disc golf, and I love the Rangers and the Longhorns. Want to know more? Shoot me a message.
What should you expect?
I guess to go back to the top, I don’t really know yet. But I’ll figure it out as I go! My current plan is to use this as a place to journal some of my thoughts as I read through my bible or hear something fascinating on a podcast (bible blog, remember?). But maybe I’ll throw in some sports stuff or post my testimony at some point. Stick around to find out, I guess?
